Halifax Green Living Reward
On 31 July 2024, Halifax introduced a new Green Living Reward cashback offer to encourage homeowners to make energy-efficient improvements to their properties. The bank’s mortgage customers can now receive up to £2,000 cashback for air source heat pump installation, and up to £1,000 cashback for other green home improvements such as insulation and solar panel installation.
Who is eligible for Halifax Green Living Reward?
Any mortgage customer with a Halifax current account can benefit from the Halifax green home improvements reward. If you’re taking out a new loan or a new deal and want to make your home greener, warmer and cheaper to run during the next 12 months, you will have access to the offer. You’re free to fund the home improvements in a way that suits you, using savings, additional borrowing, government grants or a combination.
What cashback is available?
The greater the improvements to your property, the more cashback you can benefit from. Halifax rewards include:
- £2,000 for air source heat pump installation
- £1,000 for solar panels or solar battery installation
- £?Customers qualify for the Green Living Reward benefits once they have completed on their mortgage application. The offer is available not only on residential mortgages, but also on Buy to Let (Direct only) mortgages and remortgaging. Those completing product transfers or taking a further advance can also benefit. Once you have completed on your loan, you have 12 months in which to make a claim for your Halifax green home improvements.
How do you claim your reward?
Claiming your cashback reward is simple. All you need to do is fill in some details and upload a copy of the invoice for the work. Once you’ve made your claim, Halifax aims to send the payment within five days.
