The right insulation can keep your home warm in winter and cooler in summer. It’s a simple but effective way to maintain a consistent temperature and reduce your energy bills. As every property is different, we offer a wide range of insulation options to ensure you get the best possible results for your home. Creating a thermal barrier between your property and the outside world takes skill and planning, so let the professionals do the hard work for you.
With insulation grants and funding available, insulation doesn’t have to break the bank either. Find out more about insulation options and whether you could be eligible for financial help.
There are several main types of property installation. Funding is available if you meet the relevant criteria. Below is a rundown of each option.
Insulating material is placed into the cavity of a building – the space between the inner and outer wall. This stops cold air from getting into the property and warm air from escaping. It also prevents air from circulating around the cavity. Cavity wall insulation is a great way to make your home airtight and save on energy bills.
Funding is available to selected properties in the form of the Great British Insulation Scheme (Formerly known as ECO4+). This enables homes in Council tax bands A-D (England) or A-E (Scotland), which also have an energy performance certificate (EPC) of D to G, to have all or part of their insulation costs covered. Eligibility is subject to relevant checks and a home survey to assess whether your home is suitable for cavity insulation. If you’re not eligible for funding, we can provide you with a competitive quote.
Many older properties have loft room space or a ‘Room in Roof’ that lacks suitable insulation. Room in roof insulation therefore uses the latest insulation materials and methods to trap heat and make the rooms more usable.
Room in Roof Insulation grants are now being offered as part of the government’s new Energy Companies Obligation Scheme. The grant covers the entire cost of having all loft rooms insulated to current building regulations using the latest insulation materials.
You can apply for a Room in Roof insulation grant if the property was originally built with roof rooms or the loft has been converted. As long as there is minimal or no insulation present and there is a fixed staircase leading to the room(s), and not a pull-down loft ladder or similar, you should qualify for a grant.
Insulating a flat roof can help make a property more eco-friendly and reduce energy bills. A roof is normally considered ‘flat’ if it has a pitch of less than 10 degrees. There are two main methods of installing insulation in a flat roof including warm roof and cold roof insulation. This will all depend on the building type.
Flat Roof Insulation Grants are available through the ECO4 Scheme. This aims to bring energy efficiency to households that would have otherwise not been able to afford it. The goal is to reduce the UK’s overall CO2 emissions and help people with their bills simultaneously. You should be eligible if someone in your household is claiming one or more of the following benefits. Subsidies are also available if you don’t qualify for full funding.
